Renovated Nellore town hall inaugurated

  The playback singer, S.P.Balasubramanyam has paid rich compliments to philanthropists of Nellore, for serving good causes, helpful to the community.

Mr.Balasubramanyam, who declared open the renovated townhall, a landmark of Nellore town – built in 1915 and now renovated by leading industrialist, J.S.Reddy at a cost of Rs.40 lakhs – said last night that Mr.J.S.Reddy had, without seeking publicity, donated lakhs for the renovation.

Mr.Balasubramanyam recalled the days when he staged a number of plays at the town hall and referred to his father late S.P.Sambamurthy, who conducted ‘Sri Thyagaraja Aradhanostavam’ by going through different streets along with other musicians and collecting donations. He ended his speech by rendering a part of the song ‘Dorakuna Ituvanti Seva’ – in the film ‘Sankarabharanam’.

A number of dignitaries including film actor, J.V.Somayajulu, the District Collector, G.Anantha Ramu and the Superintendent of Police, K.V.Rajendranath Reddy, spoke.
