Refreshing tune

THERE ARE innumerable "sing-a-song" programmes hosted by veterans and upcoming singers on regional channels. Most of them are trying to promote young wannabe singers but end up eulogising the old guard of melody makers. But something different and refreshing is "Padalani Vundi," hosted by S.P.Balasubramaniam( MAA TV, Sunday 10.30 a.m). SPB himself is the highlight of the show as he encourages new singers, and the programme is slotted in different segments for different age groups. The veteran crooner does not try to impose his views on youngsters instead tries to bring out their hidden talent.
